JOHN M. DILKEY, 66, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 
surrounded by his family and friends at Slidell Memorial Hospital. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Joan Dilkey; two children: Angela Dilkey 
Haas (husband Kenneth), and Ryan Dilkey (wife Jennifer), and extended family 
from Indiana; Marion Brooks, Lisa Hobson and Michelle Sizelove. 

John was a native of Anderson, Indiana, and a resident of Louisiana since 1979. 
Beloved musician, composer and arranger, John retired from Tulane University as 
band director after 21 years. He was a teacher for the Talented Music Program in 
St. Tammany Parish, a State Talented Music Evaluator, and was a board member for 
the Slidell Symphony Society. 

A loving husband, father, and friend, his talents, humor, and generosity will be 
missed. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 
2010, at 11:00am at the DuBuisson Gallery, 300 Robert Street, Olde Towne, 
Slidell, LA, 70458. (985) 649-0555. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to a music charity being set up in his name are 
preferred.
