DODSON, ALTON 
(Died September 28, 2010)

ALTON DODSON, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at his 
residence. 

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 25 years. 
He was the owner and operator of Diamond Grid Battery Service in New Orleans for 
nearly 40 years until his retirement in 1987. 

He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of Level Lodge #373 in New Orleans, 
Slidell Lodge # 311, and New Orleans Scottish Rites. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfons Dodson and Nancy Brock Dodson, 
two sisters, Zada Dodson and Zella Horton and one brother, Ormond (Jack) Dodson. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Roussel Dodson. Father of Alton 
Dodson(Linda), Darleen Durel(Bill), and David Dodson(Enid). Brother of Vinita 
Wood and Leonora Wirbel. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Debbie Wilkes, Denise 
Mortensen, Mitzi Clark, Chris Durel, Emma Dodson, and 4 great grandchildren, 
Brooke, Alexis, Dylan Mortensen and Zachary Wilkes.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation on Saturday morning after 10:00 A.M. until funeral time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Down 
Syndrome Guild of Kansas City, or to the Masonic Charity of your choice.
