May 12, 1921 - September 3, 2010 Neill M. "Buddy" Kivett, Jr. passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the age of 89. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 40 years. Beloved husband of the late Anna Lou Carr Kivett. Father of Dianne K. Butler and her husband M.O. "Buddy" Butler of Shell Knob, MO. Son of the late Lillian Long Kivett and Neill M. Kivett, Sr. Brother of Mary Myers-Holzmann and the late Bill Kivett and Lillian K. Granger. Grandfather of Jody Strickland and Sandra Strickland. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many cousins, family, friends and his faithful companion, his dog "Buddy", whom he loved dearly. Buddy was a Veteran of World War II where he served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of Waldheim United Methodist Church and he enjoyed singing in the choir and other gospel functions and playing musical instruments. He was also a member of Sun Lodge No. 336, F&AM. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Waldheim United Methodist Church, 77067 Highway 21, Covington, LA 70435 on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:00 am.
