A native of Slidell, and a resident of Columbus, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Lee Kirsh Sr. and Leona Ratcliff Kirch. Linda was a former employee of The Slidell Sentry News, the St. Tammany Parish School board and the St. Tammany Parish Assessor's Office. She was the beloved wife of 37 years to Dr. Ellis Ray Powell Sr.; the loving mother of Ellis Ray Powell Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., Natasha Leona Powell and Natika ZanŽ Kirsh, both of Columbus, Ga. She is also survived by one brother, Johnnie Lee Kirsh Jr. of Slidell; five sisters, Clementine Harris, Mary Lee Miller (Herman) and Macy Smith of Slidell, Dorothy Ducre (Clarence) and Betty Batiste (Jimmy) of Lacombe; three grandchildren, Ellexis Raychell Powell, Ellis Ray Powell III and Xayden Rashaun Hunt; four brothers-in-law, Arthur Powell Jr. of McComb, Miss., Esco Powell Sr. (Barbara) of Amite, Terrence Powell (Annie Ruth) and Melvin Powell of Slidell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, godchildren and friends. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 60183 Bryan Road, Slidell, immediately followed by the homegoning celebration at 1 p.m. Interment is in Slidell Memorial Cemetery on Daney Street in Slidell. Arrangements entrusted to Doyle Funeral Home, 2430 Fourth St., Slidell. ===================
