Sandra Laverne Place Pierre Lauren Powers passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, 
at the age of 64. 

She was the wife of 41 years to Nathan Pierre; loving mother of Nicole Marie 
Pierre (Hampton) and Michael Nathan Pierre; beloved daughter of Janet Gagnon and 
the late Vernon Place. She was native of Maine, and a resident of New Hampshire 
and Louisiana for over 20 years in each state. 

She was from a large family of siblings including Steve Place, Dawn Donovan, 
Gina Sucharwicz, Ashley Place, Sam Place, Nancy Place, Leona Gagnon and the late 
Leo Place. She earned a BA degree in nursing from LSU and enjoyed a 25-year 
career in nursing in Massachusetts, Louisiana and New Hampshire. 

She maintained a close relationship with God through her faith, church and study 
of His teachings.

Funeral services in Louisiana will be private and services in Ellsworth, Maine 
will be announced at a later date. 

E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington is in charge of 
arrangements.
