She was born on July 28, 1944. She fought a long battle with cancer, but still continued to smile and keep her sense of humor. She grew up in Bridge City, and she loved to travel. She was the beloved wife of Frank New Hyatt for 25 years. She was the mother of Helen Anita Camardelle (Glenn), Pamela Huggins (Shadow Blanchard), Trudie Walker (Troy) and P.J. Pricilla Cobb of Kiln, MS. Sister of Mary Ann Rivet and George Sloane; grandmother of Amanda Babin (Wendell), Heather Camardelle, Angela Huggins, Christie Efferson and Justin Walker; and great grandmother of Alissa, Bryce, Allie Rose, Makayla and Makenzie Rose. Spending time in the kitchen was one of her favorite pastimes, and she loved the challenge of cooking a new recipe from her cookbook collection. Taking classes for ceramics and sewing was another passion. Mom, you had the gift of talent to create your art in ceramics, cooking and sewing and had all the patience to get it done. Mom always took every opportunity to fish, being on the water or at a fishing hole was a great day for her. She will be missed by all of those who loved her especially her loving pets, Lucky and Patches. The family would like to give special thanks to AmeraCare Family Hospice (Northshore) for their loving care and support - Bridgett, Jennifer, Charisse, Patricia, Sherry, Anna, Brian, Butch and Juliette. Each of you made mom's final journey in life a comfort to her and our family with your professional care and friendship. Mom's final wishes were to host a Celebration of Life in her honor, which will be held Nov. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. at 516 Dandelion Drive, Waggaman Gym in Waggaman. Deacon Butch will lead attendees in prayer at 2 p.m., followed by a release of balloons in her honor. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to any SPCA or a charity of your choice. Serenity Funeral Home of Covington is in charge of the arrangements. ===================
