Rita Lombardo Metzler died Tuesday Oct. 5, 2010, at 7:17 a.m. at her home at the 
age of 81. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Earl L. (Red) Metzler Sr.; mother of Judith 
Metzler Battistella, Melanie Metzler Guilbeau and the late Earl L. Metzler Jr., 
and Goodwin Metzler; daughter of the late Stephen Lombardo and Johannah Barone 
Lombardo; sister of the late Josephine Heintz, Stephen (Brother) Lombardo, Earl 
Lombardo, Goodwin Lombardo and Guy Lombardo; grandmother "Mamor" of 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous 
nieces and nephews. 

Rita was a native and life-long resident of New Orleans. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home and Crematory.
