EMERSON V. STRICKLAND JR, 72, of LaPlace, LA on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. 

Beloved Husband of 52 years of Annette Yarbrough Strickland; Father of Annette 
S. McDow ( husband Kenneth Jr.), Tammy S. Harrington (husband Edward), and Lisa 
S. Ladner (husband Ernest Jr.); Son of the late: Emerson Sr. and Bertha Lemoine 
Strickland; Brother of David Strickland; Grandfather of Kenneth D. McDow III, 
Frederick J. Manale Jr, Quinn P. McDow (wife Jena), Jeffrey R. Manale, Jesse E. 
Ladner, and the late James H. Ladner.

A native of Baton Rouge, a longtime resident of New Orleans, and a resident of 
LaPlace for the past five years. He was a driver for United Cab Company for over 
40 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

Relatives, friends of the family, employees of United Cab Company, are invited 
to attend the funeral. Funeral Services will be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 
1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, 
October 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 9:00am. Burial 
will be in Bayou Caddy Cemetery in Ansley, Mississippi.

Donations to: Leukemia Society preferred, in lieu of flowers.
