Survivors include his parents, Charles N. Dupont and Brenda Broussard Dupont of Milton; one brother, Robert Owen Dupont of Milton; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Broussard of Jennings and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Dupont of Roanoke, and his cousin, Traci Juneau. Steven was born Feb. 21, 1990 in Miami, Fla., was raised in Slidell, and had been a resident of Milton since 2006. He was a 2008 graduate of Comeaux High School where he was a member of the NJROTC. He enlisted in the United States Army in July of 2008, was currently ranked as a SPC and was serving in Ghost Rider Company, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Striker Calvary Regiment in Afghanistan. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Community and an active member of the church youth group. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a wonderful son and brother. Funeral services will be held at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Milton. Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Jacob Broussard, Shamus Donahoe and Kelli Broussard. Lectors will be Jane Donahoe and Mary Kathy Juneau. The St. Joseph Church Choir will sing for the services. Pallbearers will be members of the Fort Polk Army Honor Guard. The family requests that visitation be observed from 8 a.m. until time of service. Martin & Castille-SOUTHSIDE-600 E.
