Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2010/st1011.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Emelda Francis McMooain Irvin, 66, who was born July 13, 1944, in Slidell, to the late David and Gertrude McMooain, died at home Nov. 15 after a long battle with cancer. Emelda graduated from St Tammany High School and earned degrees from both Grambling and Southern University, which made Bayou Classic games interesting. She met her future husband Dennie Lee on a Wednesday and was engaged on Saturday. They were married Dec. 29, 1967. As a faithful member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Emelda served in several capacities including Sunday school teacher. Teaching in all venues was her vocation and love. Emelda taught elementary school at Chahta-Ima, Carolyn Park and Bayou Woods in Louisiana, and Nicholson Elementary in Mississippi) for 46 years. Rejoicing in her loving memory are her children, Necole of Jackson, Miss., and Sustin (Mimi Todd); two grandsons Sustin II and Rason Lee of Katy, Texas; siblings and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will be held today from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church 62129 N. 13th Street, Slidell, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
