Kilanowski, of Slidell, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Ochsner Northshore Medical Center in Slidell. She was born on Nov. 24, 1915, in Youngstown, Ohio. She had been a resident of Slidell, since moving from Boardman, Ohio in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. Luke The Evangelist Church of Slidell. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring friend. Her faith, family, and friends were important aspects of her life, which she lived with strength and a sense of humor even during difficult times. She was a special person who is loved and missed. She was the daughter of the late John and Amelia Kepko Kollar; beloved wife of the late Michael C. Kilanowski, Sr.; mother of attorney Michael C. Kilanowski, Jr. and wife Mary Ellen and sister of the late John, Elizabeth, Robert and Earl Kollar and Anne Haberacher. She is also survived by four grandchildren, William Huet and wife Lisa, Dawn Marie Pfefferle, Meridith Kilanowski and Melissa Kamenov and husband Vladimir and five great-grandchildren, Jennifer Huet, Wyatt Hodge and William, Michael and Tyler Huet. A special note of gratitude is extended to Dr. Michael Casey for being her physician and family friend for more than 20 years. Funeral services will be held in Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Kilanowski Family Scholarship Fund at Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie St., Youngstown, OH 44507 to continue her caring ways.
