He had been living with Tommy and Patsy Griffith who relocated there after Hurricane Katrina. Tommy is his oldest stepson. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Griffith Tarnok ("Granny"), who passed away in 1999. He was born April, 16, 1923, in Macon, Ga., and moved to Slidell as a child. He was the son of, Sigmund Tarnok, deceased, and Willie Reese Tarnok, deceased; brother of the late Coleman Tarnok, and the late Mary Louise Swenson and Martha Jane Disimone who now lives and resides in Slidell. He is survived by his two stepsons, Thomas M. Griffith (wife Patsy) of Pinson, Ala., and William A.("Bill") Griffith (wife Susan) of Pearl River; grandchildren Lisa Lebo (husband Steve); great-grand child Rachel Lebo of Birmingham, Ala., Thomas M. Griffith II (wife Sharon) and great-grandchildren Jack, and Taylor Griffith-Estero of Florida, Patrick D. Griffith (wife Marcy) and great- grandchildren Emma, and Khloe Griffith of Dallas, Texas, and grandchild Stacy Roth, (Bill's Daughter) of South Bend, Ind. Pa Jack has a niece, Linda, and a nephew Richard of Poplarville, Miss. Pa Jack retired from the Boilermaker's Union, and also from the St. Tammany Parish School Board Maintenance Dept. He loved flowers, and he and "Granny" always had a beautiful vegetable garden. If you'd gave those two a box of kitchen matches, and a chainsaw they could "clear cut" St. Tammany Parish in a couple of weeks, and re-plant it in a month! He donated his body to University of Alabama Medical School. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service from 11 a.m. to noon tomorrow at Grace Memorial Baptist Church on Pearl Street, Slidell. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Grace Memorial Baptist Church- Building Fund. "Pa Jack" and "Granny" always made their contributions to the fund. ===================
