He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Lelong Bordelon and three brothers, Ron Bordelon, Gary Bordelon and Kenny Bordelon, as well as nieces, Katherine Bordelon Love, Jennifer Bordelon and Bond Bordelon and nephew, Christopher Bordelon. Albert was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended St. Francis of Asissi School and graduated from Warren Easton High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a Sergeant in the Air Force. He graduated from Southeastern University. Al worked for the LA State Office of Emergency Preparedness and Health and Hospitals in Baton Rouge, before retiring to Covington, LA. At an early age he developed a love and respect for nature and for all of God's creatures. As an adult he became an environmentalist and naturalist and worked to preserve native plants and animals and to correct issues including the pollution of our water and habitat destruction. He was a Master Gardener and a member of the Folsom Native Plant Society, the Louisiana Bayou Bluebird Society, the National Wildlife Federation and the Sierra Club. Al was always ready to lend a helping hand to whom ever needed it, whether they were human or animal and he lived life to its fullest. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Wildlife Federation. ===================
