ELAM, JAMES CHARLES, Jr. 
March 31, 1941 - December 4, 2010 	

James Elam Jr. age 69, of FT. Worth, TX. went to be with the Lord on December 4, 
2010 at Ochsner Medical Center. 

His parents James Charles Elam and Mary Margaret Adcock, two sons Michael J. and 
Ernest L. Elam, precede James in death. 

Survivors include his beloved wife Betty Elam of 44 years. His children Mark 
Godwin of Roseburg, OR, Sydney Elam of Woodbridge, VA, Kimberly Elam of 
Shelbyville, TN, Richard and spouse Elizabeth Elam of Slidell, LA , Bobby Elam 
of Shelbyville, TN, and Jessica Elam of Slidell, LA. Also survived by 
grandchildren Christopher, Cassidy, Megan, Ashley, Candace, Cameron and Trevor, 
and his sister Marion Burris of Axle, TX, one niece and three nephews.

James was the father to eight children and he lived a full life. He enjoyed 
boxing and he served the in U.S. Navy. James later would work as a carpenter, 
construction foreman, and as an auto salvager while being a devoted husband, 
father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many. James will be missed greatly.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service from the chapel of 
Bagnell & Son funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA. 70435. Services will 
begin 3:00 p.m. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m.
