John W. Kennedy, Jr., age 55, of Poplarville, Miss., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 
in New Orleans.

Born in Bogalusa, and raised in Pearl River, he was a construction 
superintendent and a member of Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Ted" W. Kennedy Sr. and Julia Mae 
Kennedy and one sister: Lori Mahan. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Kennedy of Poplarville, Miss.; his 
loving children: Rachel Kennedy Sones of Poplarville, her husband Brad, Michael 
John Kennedy of Poplarville and his wife Jamie of Pearl River; his loving 
grandchildren, Jason Kennedy, Bailey Kennedy, Cade Sones and Chase Sones; his 
loving sisters, Linda Andrews of Pearl River, and Lana Bennett of Pearl River 
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Serenity Landmark 
Missionary Baptist Church, 1079 Old Camp Road, Poplarville, Miss.  

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. at Serenity Landmark Missionary 
Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist 
Church Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Elders Edward 
Penton, Clyde Cooper and Everette Broome will officiate at the service.
