Leon was born on September 10, 1952 to Germaine Bordelon Desselle and the late Charles William Desselle, Jr. He is also survived by one brother, Edward Eric Desselle; one sister, Jeanne Desselle Fontenot; brother-in-law, Michael John Fontenot; companion of many years, Jeanelle Gamez; nieces and nephew, Tanya Desselle Ickowitz, Natalie Rae Desselle, Jeremy Michael Fontenot, and Courtney Elizabeth Fontenot; and grand niece and nephew, Rachel and Jacob Ickowitz. Leon was a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School and Loyola University New Orleans. He served in the U.S. Army and was currently employed by Sears. He will be dearly missed and will always be remembered by his family and friends for his unconditional love and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003 on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 9:30 am. Visitation at church from 8:00 am until service time. A private interment will be held at a later date.
