Beloved mother of William K. Haney (Jolanta) of New Orleans and Barry L. Haney (Mitt) of Charleston, SC; grandmother of Elizabeth and Christopher Haney of New Orleans and Patrick and Angelina Haney of Charleston, SC; sister to Caryl W. Vail (James); and sister-in-law of Colonel O.R. Haney, USAF (Retired) (Catherine). She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Colonel George W. Haney, USAF (Retired); her daughter, Caryl Ann Haney; her mother, Louise Lyman Whipple; her father, Vernon Harrington Whipple; her sisters, Elizabeth Whipple, Louise W. Timberlake and Jean W. Carter; and a brother, Robert L. Whipple. Age 89 years, she was native of Dayton, Ohio. Before moving to the Northshore in 1964, the family lived in many military duty stations including Athens, Greece where both Bill and Barry were born and Washington, D.C. where Caryl Ann was born. Marian was a devoted mother and grandmother who had a special relationship with her grandchildren. She loved traveling, bridge and entertaining. She was an outgoing and strong woman who enriched the lives of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, February 23, 2011at 1:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Marian be made to Covington Presbyterian Church, 222 South Jefferson Street, Covington, LA 70433. ===================
