MATULICH,SR., of Slidell, LA on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Beloved Husband of the late Alberta Hoffman Matulich, and by the first marriage to the late Lucile Erxleben Matulich. Father of Larry F. Matulich,II(Jane), Bruce Alan Matulich and Mary Lou M. Jordan(Billy). Brother of the late Edward Joseph Matulich, Wallace "Eagle" Matulich, and Johanna M. Ricouard. Also survived by his uncle, Frank Matulich, Columbia, MS., and 3 grandchildren, Daniel Matulich, Patrick Jordan and Shane Jordan(Andrea). Age 89 years. A native of Columbia, MS., and a longtime resident of Slidell and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended Mississippi State Univeristy on a football scholarship, he graduated with a B.A. from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS., he received his Master's Degree from Ole Miss University, he received his Administration Degree + 30 from L.S.U., U.S.M., Univeristy of Wyoming and Cal Berkley State.. He was a member of the Elks Club and was the Louisiana Class A Coach of the Year In 1962. He retired in 1987 from the St. Tammany Parish School System with a long career in education that began in 1949 in the public schools of Mississippi and Louisiana. He was a former Math teacher, Football Coach and School Administrator at the following schools, Bruce High School, Bruce, MS., Florence High School, Florence, MS., Itawamba Junior College, Florence, MS., Forest Hills High School, Jackson, MS., Ferriday High School, Ferriday, La., St. Francisville High School, St. Francisville, La., Hancock North Central High School, Kiln, MS., Pearl River Junior High and Pearl River High School, Pearl River, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time. Donations to Pearl River High School Scholarship Fund, Pearl River, La., preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
