He was born October 6, 1930 in New Orleans, LA to the late Louis and Emily Bourg Reiss, was a former resident of Harvey, LA before moving to reside in Covington. The devoted husband of Frances Hebert Reiss, he was the loving father of Linda Reiss Davis and Wanda Reiss Urban; father-in-law of Ricky D. Urban and Wayne J. Guillot, Sr.; grandfather of Jamey Urban Carrick and husband David, Rod Francis Davis, and fiancˇe Paula; great grandfather of Cassidy Jade and Cooper David Carrick and Tristen Strider; brother of Cecile Haydel; brother-in-law of Rosemary "Mae Mae" Hebert. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Guillot, Bernard, Norman and Charles Reiss. Red retired from Schlumberger Offshore Wells after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the William D. White Masonic Lodge #408, New Orleans Scottish Rite, the New Orleans Shriners and was also a member of the Westbank Lion's Club. Relatives, friends of the family and employees/staff of R&R Electrical Service, Dr. Peter W. Simoneaux's office, Dependable Seals, Home Depot, Jefferson Parish General Services and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriffs Department are all invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Masonic Rites will begin at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours will begin Wednesday at 8:00 AM. Interment at Spring Creek Cemetery in Kentwood, LA will immediately follow services. The family extends a special thanks to the employees at Mary Bird Perkins, Dr. Jay Saux and Cancer care of Louisiana, St. Tammany Hospital 3 East, Hospice of St. Tammany and the Lymphedema Clinic.
