Newton Thomas Barrois, Sr. age 85 of Lacombe, Louisiana passed peacefully in his 
sleep on March 12, 2011.

A native of New Orleans, he grew up in several south Louisiana communities 
before settling in Algiers to raise his family. After his retirement, he and his 
wife moved to Lacombe. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, after which he led a 
long and successful career as a Yacht and tug boat captain.

He most enjoyed his time spent with family often around seafood boils. 

Newton is predeceased by his wife, Claire Attaway Barrois, to whom he was 
married for 52 years. He is survived by his two sons: Newton T. Barrois, Jr. and 
wife Sandy of Slidell, Dennis J. Barrois and wife Kathy of Mandeville: daughter 
Barbara Barrois Volz and husband David of Houston, TX,: brother Joseph Barrois 
of Lacombe, La., grandchildren: Richard Maique and wife Olga of Knoxville, TN, 
Stacey Barrois of Mandeville, Patrick J. Barrois of Slidell, and great 
granddaughter Blayke Barrois of Slidell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. 
Visitation on Tuesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time. 

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.
