A memorial service will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Carolyn was the beloved wife of Doyle Magee Jr. She was the mother of Wendy White Gough (husband Matt Gough) of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was the stepmother of Doyle Magee III and Marc Christian Magee. She was the sister-in- law of Sue Magee Bollin (husband Bob). Carolyn was the eldest of four sisters. Survivors are Evelyn Smith (husband Donald Smith) of Munich, Germany, Kathleen Griffith (husband Chuck) of Central City, Nebraska, and Colleen Lacox (husband Gary) of Diboll, Texas. She was the grandmother of Maxwell Gough and Molly Gough. She is survived by 4 nieces and 3 nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. Carolyn was born on Nov. 8, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father Marion Earl McMillan, her mother Marie Edwards and her adoptive father Everette Edwards and her stepson Marc Christian Magee. Carolyn graduated from Hammond High School and was an alumnus of Southeastern Louisiana University. Before retirement, she helped many people for over 30 years as a case worker for the Louisiana Dept. of Health and Human Resources. For the past eleven years, she has worked in the After Care program at St. Peter's Catholic School in Covington. She often spoke of the wonderful children she encountered daily. Carolyn was an avid reader and a champion at crossword puzzles. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook with her sisters and friends. She was a huge Saints fan and loved to relax at the camp of Bob and Sue Bollin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity. ===================
