Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1104.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== ELLIS LEROY BABCOCK, JR., 82, died in his home in Lake Charles on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 3 AM. He was a native of Hinton, LA, and a longtime resident of Slidell. He had lived in Lake Charles since 2006. Ellis loved the Lord and spent his life faithfully serving in every capacity in which he was called. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances Hollenshead Babcock; three daughters, Carla Babcock of Baton Rouge; Cheryl Maggio and husband Mike of Dry Creek; Cindy Drew of DeRidder; four grandsons, David Drew, Alex Drew, Brandon Maggio, and Beau Maggio and wife, Katie. Ellis graduated from Sikes High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK. He was employed as a geophysicist by Mobil Oil Company for 35 years. Visitation will be Friday, April 15th, from 5 PM to 9 PM at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, la. Service will be Saturday, April 16th at 10 AM at First Baptist Church in Slidell, officiated by Rev. Jim Baham, with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery immediately following the service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Slidell for many years where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and director. ===================
