Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1104.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Kelly Patrick Fitzmaurice, 53, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Tchefuncta Estates in Covington, died peacefully in his sleep on April 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his daughter, Megan Fitzmaurice; parents Gayle and Edmond H. Fitzmaurice, Jr.; two brothers: Eddie Fitzmaurice, III, and wife, Stacy; and Brian Fitzmaurice; three sisters: Shannon Lovell; Kerryn Liebkemann and husband Bobby; and Colleen Arceneaux and husband Howard; aunt Jan Toppino; cousin Terry Toppino and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by maternal grandmother Anita Boasso Saliba Huey and paternal grandparents Edmond H. Fitzmaurice Sr. and Catherine Guarisco Fitzmaurice. He was employed by Philips Healthcare as a Field Engineer in the Biomedical Division. He graduated from Covington High School in 1976 and later received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. While at SLU, he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He was an avid snow and water skier and helped to organize the first water ski club at SLU. He loved riding motorcycles, spending time in nature, particularly gardening and bird-watching, and was a strong proponent of wetlands preservation and other environmental causes. He always enjoyed spending time with his many good friends. Private funeral services were held by the family. The interment will be held at St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, New Orleans, LA at a later date. ===================
