Rousseau, Jr. (Ret.), 75 years of age and current resident of Slidell, La., peacefully passed on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Ochsner-Northshore hospital after a brief illness. Charles (Charlie) was the beloved husband of the late Ann Capper Rousseau. He was the loving father of the late Charles (Chuck) Rousseau III, Jean Rousseau Lawrence and husband Jim of Slidell, La.; and Julie Rousseau Horridge and husband Steve of Suwanee, Ga. He was the devoted grandfather of Stephanie and Chad Lawrence, Spencer and Adam Horridge, and Mary and Charles Rousseau IV. Also survived by Linda Capper Plavidal and Dr. Ferd Plavidal of Houston, Tx.; Marilyn and Sidney Terrebonne of Kenner, La.; and cousins Gary Viviano, Al Link, Arthur Joy and Susan Terrebonne Robin. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eleanor Link Rousseau and Charles (Dux) Rousseau Sr. Charlie was a native of New Orleans, long time resident of Arabi, and most recently a resident of Slidell. He was a Lt. Colonel in the La. Air National Guard 159th Fighter Squadron out of Belle Chase for over 30 years. He also owned and operated several Zack's Frozen Yogurt locations. He was a member of the Military Officers Association and the La. Air National Guard Retiree's Association. He faithfully attended St. Luke's Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Family visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. in the community room at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, La. In lieu of flowers, we believe that Charlie would have preferred that each of you do a random act of kindness on his behalf.
