He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the beloved husband of Lillie Mae Pittman Camper for 55 years; beloved son of the late Albert Curtis Sr., and Verdis Collins Camper; loving father of Linda Newsome of Plankton, Fla., Darliss Curtis Camper Sr., (Tanya), Beatrice Camper, Jimmy Lee Camper, Sr., (Kathleen), Charles Ray Camper (Deanna), Bruce Albert Camper (Rosalind), Timmy Lee Camper and Verdis Lee Camper and loving brother of Verdice Weathersby, Wardell Camper, Berdis Magee, Olamae Gibson, L.J. Camper, Crystal Roby and the late Pearlee Walker, and Timothy Camper. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great -grandchildren. The funeral service was held yesterday at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, in Mendenhall, Miss.
