Charles Joseph Champagne, age 82, passed away May 23, 2011, from complications 
of COPD. 

He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Slidell for the past 16 years. 

The beloved husband of the late Elaine Champagne, he is survived by his son 
Charles J Champagne Jr.; daughters Dorothy Fullilove, Charlotte Gerhold, Cathy 
Stroupe, and Linda Strassel; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

He was a longtime supervisor for New Orleans Novelty/Arcade at Lakeside Mall and 
a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as a deep sea diver.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. today from 
the New Orleans Funeral Home of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott 
St., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until service time. 
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
