COX, CLYDE ALVA, JR.
(June 1, 1949 - May 1, 2011)

Clyde Alva Cox, Jr. age 61 of Covington, LA passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 
at Canon Hospice in Jefferson, LA.

He was born June 1, 1949 in Kermit, TX to the late Doris McClain Cox and Clyde 
Alva Cox, Sr. Clyde graduated from Covington High School in 1967, attended 
Southeastern University and served our nation for 15 years in the U.S. Air Force 
with duties in Thailand, West Germany, the Middle East, Iceland, Greenland, 
Alaska, then was privately employed for 15 years in Saudi Arabia. Clyde 
considered himself a Citizen of the world and lived his life to the fullest.

He is survived by his two wonderful daughters, Cori Cox Nelson and Rebekah Cox 
of Madisonville, LA; two grandchildren, Presli Nelson and Benjamin Cox of 
Mandisonville, LA; sister and brother-in-law, Dorethea Cox Cooper and Robert 
Cooper of Covington, LA; his brother, Martin Cox of Jasper, AR; and by many 
other family members and friends.

Clyde's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses 
and staff of both Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Canon Hospice of Jefferson 
Parish for their heroic efforts to not give up on Clyde in the last weeks of his 
life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in Clyde's memory to Canon 
Hospice, 1221 South Clearview Parkview, Jefferson, LA 70121.

A private memorial service will be held a later date.
