Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1105.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== BEVERLY SMITH GROSS, age 77, wife and mother, passed away from this life to her eternal home on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She was born August 28, 1933, to the late Henry and Robelia "Bea" Smith. She was raised in Bogalusa, Washington Parish, Louisiana with two siblings, Preston "Sonny" Smith and Jacqueline Smith Hunter. She graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1953 as a member of the Torch Social Club and Lutawa Horizon Club. Upon graduation she married Charles M. Gross of Slidell, Louisiana. She became an advocate for children with special needs serving on the Board of Directors of North Lake Service and Support Center located in Hammond, Louisiana. Beverly spent more than 50 years of her life as a resident of Slidell, and is currently a member of High Praise Fellowship. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Gross and her four children: Bridget Gross Mills and son-in-law Gary Mills, Lisa Gross, C. Dane Gross and daughter-in-law Donna Carlton Gross, and Jean Gross; and grandchildren Michael and Rachel Mills, Amanda, Adam, and Aaron Gross. She is preceded in death by her daughter Tonya Gross. She will be remembered for her giving spirit and devotion to her husband and Children and by her many lifelong friends. She has touched the lives of countless people with her ready smile, generous heart, compassionate nature, and her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Family and friends are invited to services held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA at 1:00pm. Visitation from 11:00am until 1:00pm.
