Beloved Husband of Regene Rigby Hoppmeyer for the past 62 years; Father of Calvin C. Hoppmeyer, Jr. (wife Stephanie), Jacquelaine Hoppmeyer Kennedy (deceased husband Donald), and Michelle Hoppmeyer Bonin (husband Daniel Jr.); Son of the late Walter and Helen Hoppmeyer; Brother of the late Walter Hoppmeyer Jr, and Roy Hoppmeyer; Also survived by nine grandchildren: Brenna Hoppmeyer, Kathryn Hoppmeyer-Stevens (Matthew), Shelby Hoppmeyer, Christian Hoppmeyer, Maureen Kennedy, Erin Kennedy Snow (Chris), Russell Kennedy, Donald Trevor Kennedy, Derek Bonin (Casey); three great-grandchildren: Julia June Hoppmeyer-Wilbert, Kayme Mae Bonin, Kinsley Lane Bonin; and his favorite nephew Roy Hoppmeyer, Jr. Preceded in death by a grandson: Spencer Daniel Bonin. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Hoppmeyer graduated from Fortier High School, Tulane University, and Tulane Law School. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre on the LCSL #96. Cal was owner/partner of N.O. Rosenbush Claims Svc, Inc., retiring in 1998. He was past president of both the Louisiana Independent Claims Adjusters and the N.A.I.I.A. He was member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in New Orleans and a current member of The Village Church of Lacombe. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 11:00am at The Village Church, 29180 Hwy 190, in Lacombe. The family will receive friends after the service at the church fellowship hall. Memorial Gifts may be made to Alzheimer's Association 2605 River Road New Orleans LA 70121. Interment of ashes will occur at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans at a later date.
