Phillips, passed away on April 30, 2011 after a long battle with heart disease. He was born January 02, 1940 in Oneida, Tennessee and resided in Slidell, Louisiana since 1977. He is preceded in death by his parents Isaac B. Phillips and Ruby G. Perri. He is survived by four children, Kenneth H. Phillips, Natalie P. Varcasia, Connie P. Fricke and Pamela P. Moore. He will also be dearly missed by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force and from DCAS at Martin Marietta and Stennis Space Center. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, Pearl Lodge #456 F. &A.M. and the Order of the Easter Star Lakeshore Chapter No. 59. "Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend the memorial service being held at Pearl Lodge #456 located at 64468 Hwy. 41 in Pearl River, LA Friday, May 6, 2011. Visitation from 9:00am -11:00am with services being held at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers members of the family are asking for donations to be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
