He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlene. He is survived by his son, Richard; granddaughter, Laura, and Laura's mother, Kathleen. Herb, who born and raised in Amite, attained Eagle Scout as a teenager, graduated from Ole Miss in 1941 with a degree in engineering and wonderful memories of playing in the band. A member of the ROTC, he went on to become a Captain in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Gas Supply Company while serving in World War II. Herb spent many years in Washington State as an employee of the Boeing Company. While with the Boeing Company, he was instrumental in the Apollo/ Saturn V Roll of Honor. As a civil engineer, Herb worked for the Port of New Orleans as well as having his own business as a land surveyor in Covington, where he lived in the Tchefuncta Club Estates. Herb's life was punctuated with exotic travels and rich music. He had an appreciation for beauty and worked toward excellence in all that he did. Herb was a gentleman until the end.
