Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1106.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== JAMES MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER, 62, of Pearl River, LA, died on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Slidell Memorial Hospital, of lung cancer. Son of Jane Crane Christopher and the late John Walter Christopher; brother of Irvin Walter "Chris" Christopher, Donna Christopher, Keith Christopher (wife Christine Sauer), Lista Hank (husband Stephen), and the late Susan Christopher. Also survived by two nieces, Zo‘ Hernandez Christopher, and Ariel Grace Christopher. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, James Michael graduated from John McDonogh Senior High School in New Orleans in 1966. He earned an AD in Computer Science from Delgado College in New Orleans and a BA in Communications from University of Texas-Corpus Christi. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserve, and worked for 20 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Finance Center in New Orleans. James Michael was fascinated with trains since childhood and had been a member of the Southern Railway Historical Association as well as model railroading groups. In recent years he was an active member of the RiverLife Fellowship in Pearl River, LA. A Memorial Service will be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. ===================
