Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1106.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Eugene Vaught Dodson was born on December 31, 1917 in Craig, CO and died peacefully on June 7, 2011 at the age of 93 at The Glen Retirement Center in Shreveport, LA. He was a devoted husband for 60 years to Gladys Ruth Rouse who preceded him in death in 2000. They resided in East Texas, Slidell, LA, Picayune, MS and Lumberton, MS. An avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, he retired from Kaiser Aluminum Chalmette. He and Ruth lived their lives in accordance with the teachings of Jesus and were instrumental in organizing the Church of Christ in Slidell. He is survived by two daughters, Ruthie O'Neill from Shreveport, LA and Patsy D. "Patty" Cooper from Baton Rouge, LA. Ruthie is married to Charles W. O'Neill, Jr. He is also survived by grandchildren Jana O'Neill Probst, Charles W. O'Neill III, Kelly O'Neill Dial, Tobin J. Cooper, Travis D. Cooper and Susan Cooper Johnson. He is survived by 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral at Honaker's Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West in Slidell on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. Visitation is at 10:00 am the same day. Interment is at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Honaker's in Slidell. Family members are conducting the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Village Health Care at The Glen Retirement System in Shreveport, LA. ===================
