Barbara Sliman Fontan, 56 of Leesville, passed from this life Sunday May 29, 
2011, in her residence.

Ms. Fontan was born and raised in Vernon Parish. She is a graduate of Leesville 
High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She lived in 
Covington for 25 years. Ms. Fontan was a school teacher for 30 years, and earned 
a bachelor and two master's degrees in education. She was a member of the Beta 
Sigma Phi Sorority, DAV Auxiliary, Soldiers Angel, and APEC.

She was preceded in death by her Father: Peter J. Sliman Jr.

Survivors include one son, Wesley Clay Joseph Fontan of Leesville; mother, Pat 
Sliman of Leesville; brothers, Peter J. Sliman III, wife Kathleen and niece Eden 
of Leesville and William David Sliman of Mooringsport; sister, Susan Sliman 
Benson; husband Randy; two nieces, Rachael and Alex; nephew, Thor of Leesville 
and numerous family, loved ones and friends.

Memorial gathering will be from 9 - 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Hixson 
Funeral Home in Leesville. The Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, 
June 11, 2011, with the Rev. Michiels officiating.

A memorial service will be held in Covington on a date to be announced later.
