Beloved husband of 55 years to Dorothy Koepp Grinnell. Loving father of Karen G. Corales (Gary), Lisa G. Kennan (Michael), Scott J. Grinnell (Carrie), daughter- in-law Cynthia F. Grinnell (Todd). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lauren, Sheri and Lindsey Corales, Brian E. Grinnell II, Jessica Grinnell, Zachary and Jacob Kennan; and brother, Melvin J. Grinnell and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by two sons, Brian E. Grinnell and Todd P. Grinnell; his parents Edna T. Grinnell and Edward F. Grinnell; and one sister, Rosavilla Cole. Mr. Grinnell was a native of Mandeville, LA and has resided in Kenner for the past 47 years. He was in the U.S. Navy during WW II and afterward was employed as a Gas Controller by United Gas Pipeline, which at his retirement was named United Energy Resources Inc. He is a current parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish in Kenner, LA formerly known as Nativity of Our Lord Parish and was a former member of St. Jerome Parish. He was a huge fan of the outdoors, loved fishing, boating and camping. He especially loved spending quality time with his family. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compasses and St. Theresa's Medical Complex for their kindness and compassion. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow in Theodore-Dendinger Cemetery, Madisonville, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer Masses at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Kenner, LA or donations to Hospice Compasses. ===================
