Born on September 12th, 1928 in Buffalo New York, Aileen was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so dear, we will always be inspired by her remarkable ability to bounce back from adversity. Born with spinal bifada, the doctors said she would not live, but oh! live she did! and it was with vim and vigor, traveling to Alaska with her mother and sister Marnie as a teen ager on a steam ship to Alaska, where she met the love of her live Mickey Marsh, while working in the co-op photography dept. He was a war correspondent / photographer and Aileen was also modeling for Griffens studio. When her beloved Mickey died Aileen's instructions to the military "Taps" being played at the end of the ceremony to be immediately followed by "Revelry" Aileen had an extraordinary depth of joy in life one would find nearly impossible to emulate, her standard answer after any adversity was "I am great" and indeed, she always was. An amazingly good bridge player and teacher, she never missed a chance to make it to the club.. and if she couldn't make it to the club to play, the club came to Aileen in the hospital. Aileen's persona was that of style and grace one in this life seldom, gets to see but will always be remembered, especially by her best friend of so many years Bill Treadaway Aileen, was always ready to hop on and go along for the ride, but now we have to stand apart waving our goodbye to you Aileen, on this last trip home. Our amazing grace has left this shore. Proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years, M.W. (Mickey) Marsh Aileen is survived by her special companion, Bill Treadaway Daughter, Darlene Marsh Morgan, Son, Daniel Marsh and wife Brenda, Brother, Carl Crosman, Sisters, Marnie Metz, Billie Cook and Carol Cornelius 4 grandchildren and 7 great grand children, visitation will be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, and again on Thursday morning from 9:00am until 10:00am.
