Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1106.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== JOSEPH PATRICK O'DEA, age 87, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Live Oak Village Assisted Living Center in Slidell, LA. Beloved husband of the late Irma V. O'Dea. Son of the late Patrick and Ellen Larkin O'Dea. Survived by relatives in England, California, Louisiana, Mississippi and Nebraska. He is also survived by many loving friends. Mr. Joe was a native of New York, NY and a resident of Slidell, LA since 1980. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and participated in the invasion of Omaha Beach on D-Day. He retired as a Chief Master Sgt. in the US Air Force after 30 years of service. Joe was devoted to his wife Irma. After her death, he devoted his time and energy in serving others as a hospice volunteer in Slidell. He attended Christ Episcopal Church and Northside Baptist Church, both of Slidell. Many thanks to the caregivers at LiveOak Village, MedPass and St. Joseph Hospice who showed kindness in caring for him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am. Interment will be held in Kearney Cemetery, Kearney, NB at a later date.
