Howard Douglas Swenson Sr., loving father, age 85, of Pearl River, passed away 
Friday, June 24, 2011. 

He served in the U.S. Navy, was a maintenance mechanic at Kaiser, a salesman for 
Evans Tobacco Co., and worked at the NASA Slidell Computer Complex. He was also 
a member of Charter Oak Baptist Church.

Howard is the beloved father of Howard Douglas Swenson Jr., Gayle Hines and 
Kathy Swenson; grandfather of Jason, Andrea, Bethany and Tiffany. He is also 
survived by nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is 
also survived by two sons-in-law, George and Mark, and sister-in-law Alma 
Singleton. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Edith Wood Swenson; his parents Julius and 
Leila Swenson; four brothers Clifton, J.D., Charlie Mae, Jerome; sister Bonnie 
Cox, and grandson Sonny Williamson.

A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Charter Oak 
Baptist Church, Highway 41, Pearl River.
