Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1107.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Howell Carter, III, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville/Covington for 51 years where he was a general contractor and real estate land developer, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at age 82. Beloved husband of 51 years to Emma Jean Stennett Carter. Loving father of Howell Carter IV, Cynthia Carter Prior and Catherine Carter St. Pierre. Brother of Marjorie Carter Fracher. Grandfather of Andrew Christian Carter, Caroline Olivia Carter, Lily Isabelle Carter, James Stennett Prior, Gordon Howell Prior, Carter William St. Pierre, Charles Christopher St. Pierre and Christian Howell St. Pierre. He was preceded in death by his parents Howell Carter, Jr. and Florence Martha Otis Carter. Mr. Carter was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from LSU where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was a member of several carnival organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St., Baton Rouge, LA 70806 on Friday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Carter be made to the American Heart Association or Christ Episcopal Church in Covington. ===================
