Copeland, age 75, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a brief illness. He has been a resident of Covington for the past 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann M. Copeland and his three children, Janet Marie Copeland Roy, and children Logan Charrier and Lucas Roy; John L. Copeland, Jr. and children, Bailey Copeland, Ceiara Adams, and Caynan Copeland and three grandchildren; Anthony Christopher Copeland and wife, Michaela Copeland and one sister, Barbara Jean Rathbone. John was born in Demopolis, Alabama, graduated from Demopolis High School and graduated with a B.S. Degree from Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and was a Salesman for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals for 27 years. Upon retirement, he volunteered at the Covington Food Bank for 7 1/2 years and 10 years as a Guild Volunteer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He also volunteered at St. Joseph Abby's Pennies for Bread. For many years, he enjoyed serving as an usher at the 4:00 PM mass at St. Peter Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Northshore Camellia Club. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 12:00 PM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in his honor to the St. Tammany Hospital Guild Scholarship Fund, St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433. ===================
