Joseph W. Hughes, Sr. passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Silver Creek, GA. 
He was 87 years old. 

He was a lifelong resident of Chalmette, La., he then relocated to Mandeville 
after Katrina, more recently he resided in Silver Creek, Ga., with his son Joe 
Jr. and his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Alice P. Hughes. He is survived 
by two sons, Joseph W. Hughes Jr. and Richard M. Hughes, four grandchildren and 
several great-grand children.

Relatives and friends of the family along with fellow workers at Tenneco 
Chalmette refinery are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on 
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. 
Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours will begin Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial 
Gardens in Covington will immediately follow services.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Foundation would be greatly 
appreciated.
