Mills, passed away on July 4, 2011 at their home in Mandeville, surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old. A New Orleans native, she was a graduate of Dominican High School, Louisiana State University, and William Carey College. She was a zealous L.S.U. Tiger fan, a world traveler, and a fabulous cook and baker who loved welcoming her large extended family and many friends to her home for get-togethers. As an R.N., Shirley took pride in her career as school nurse at Delgado Community College. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Shirley is survived by daughters Gerry Odisio (John), Donna Mills (Stephen Wagster), and Michele Ward (Keith); grandsons Brian and Kevin Ward; great grandchildren Sarah and Joseph Vaccarella; and by an aunt and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Mills, parents Irene and Louis Brown, grandson Randy Vaccarella, sister Patricia Brown, brother L.J. Brown, and niece Deborah Mills. Visitation will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday July 8 at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mandeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Shirley be made to Hospice Compassus, 770 Gause Blvd, Suite C, Slidell, La 70458. ===================
