She was born July 5, 1924 in Birds Run, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ira J. and Lorraine Wyke Baker. She was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy and was a retired co-owner of Talking Shirts. While living in Indian River City, Fla., she was a charter member of National Little League Baseball and a Cub Scout den mother. She was also a former member of the W.I.B.C. in Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Her hobby was baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Franklin W. Thurlow Sr.; her husband by first marriage, Fred H. Booth; two sons Franklin W. Thurlow Jr. and Dale H. Thurlow; two brothers Dale R. Baker and John I. Baker; one brother- in-law Virgil Bliss, and one sister-in-law Anna Mae Baker. Survivors include one son, Richard B. Thurlow of Oxford, Miss.; four brothers, Donald E. (Doris) Baker, Jack R. (Ellen) Baker, Gene R. (Rosemary) Baker, and Paul L. (Elverda) Baker all of Necomerstown, Ohio; two sisters, Virginia R. Ames of Coshocton, Ohio, and Betty J. (the late Virgil) Bliss of Necomerstown; one sister-in-law Dorothy Baker; five grandchildren, Shaun Thurlow of Poplarville, Miss., Nicole Thurlow of Picayune, Brian, Kyle, and Baker Thurlow of Oxford, Miss.; four step- grandchildren Greg Pruitt of Franklin, Tenn., Drew Pruitt of Oxford, Shelby and Joseph Stribling of Oxford and two great-grandsons. A graveside service for Nova and Franklin Thurlow, Sr. will be conducted Oct. 7, 2011, at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice in Slidell, the Disabled American Veterans, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the Wounded Warriors Project. ===================
