Age 85 years. A native of Westpoint, Iowa and former resident of New York and Florida. He was a college Educator and Professor. Don received his B.S. in Bussiness Administration and his MBA from New York University. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi and taught at various colleges including Berkly School of Banking in New Jersey, Long Island University, St Francis College and Interboro Institute in New York, Adelphi Scool, Tampa College, Eckered College and Nova University in Florida and Delgado College, Phillips College and Holy Cross College in New Orleans. He also worked for Jefferson Parish in New Orleans. He was a Life Member and 3rd Degree Grand Knight as welll as a 4th Degree Navigator of the Knights of Columbus. He achieved the highest rank - 4th degree Knight of The Holy Cross of The Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. A Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps and a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He was the son of the late Edward H. Groene and Ethel Mc Neill Groene. He is survived by his sisters, Janet and Martha Groene of Dunedin, Fla. Funeral Services with Inurnment to be held in Fort Madison, Iowa. Donations to the SPCA or masses preferred in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held in New Orleans, at a later date. ===================
