Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2011/st1108.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== MATTHEW JOHN HILKER, 21, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011, in New Orleans, after a motorcycle accident, caused by a blown front tire. Son of Jay Hilker and Wendy Hilker; brother of Trey Hilker (Sarah); grandson of Deon Serpas; godfather to Julie Hilker; nephew of John Gonzales Jr., and Jason Gonzales; also survived by aunts: Terri, Sheryl, Karen, and Kathy: uncles, friends and other relatives. A native of Slidell, Matthew was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow, Assistant Scout Master Troop #327, 2008 graduate of Northshore High School, a recipient of the Presidents Physical Fitness Award, and Assistant Coach of the Pearl River High Boys Soccer Team, who won the first District Championship in school history. He was a student at Delgado Community College, an Altar Server of the year at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, and Assistant CCD teacher at St. Lukes. Matthew enjoyed motorcycle cruising with his friends, playing and coaching soccer, guitar, art, graphic design, horticulture, hydroponics, auto cross, inventing, chess, paintball, camping, and boating. He was an owner and operator of Veteran Pool Service. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church at 5:00pm. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday beginning at 4:00pm. ===================
