Wilbert J. Kern, of Pearl River, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the age 
of 86 years. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the 
Honey Island Lions Club.

Mr. Kern is survived by five children, Kenneth Ray Kern, Jerrold Neil Kern, 
Brendan Gerard Kern, Gregory Joseph Kern and Christine Louise Kern; three 
brothers, Melvin, Roland and Raymond Kern; 10 grandchildren, Barry, Steven, 
Jerry, Justin, Kayla, Stacy, Nathelie, Gabrielle, Jordan and Tabatha and five 
great-grandchildren, Mason, Griffin, Emma, Chloe and Haiden Caroline.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Stoltz Kern; a son, Wilbert
ÒJoeyÓ Joseph Kern, Jr. and his parents, Roland Adrian Kern and Claudia 
Griffin Kern Valance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 at Saints 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 66192 St. Mary Dr., Pearl River, with 
visitation from 6 Ð 9 p.m. Monday at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River, 
and again starting at 9:30 a.m. at the church Tuesday morning.

Interment will follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pearl River, with 
the Rev. Ray Hymel officiating.
