Provost

On Wednesday, August 3, 2011, Iona ÒBootsieÓ Toney Provost passed away at 
Louisiana Heart Hospital, at the age of 72.

Mrs. Bootsie was a homemaker and a member of Charter Oak Baptist Church, in the 
Charter Oak Community.

She is survived by her husband Willie ÒCubÓ Provost, four children, Martha 
Moorman and her husband Chris, Marvin Provost and his wife Tammy, Mary Smith 
and her husband Vernon, and Milton Provost and his wife Michelle; her brother, 
Vinson Toney and sisters, Ola Mae Oliver, Lucille Barton and Minnie Sorrells; 
seven grandchildren, Michael Moorman, Bridget Thigpen, Johnathan Smith, 
Stephanie Smith, Hailey Provost, David Provost and Brandy Jordan; and a great-
grandchild, Mack Lobrano and many others that were as close to her as her 
children and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Delia Toney; two brothers, 
Monroe Toney and Frankie Toney; and two sisters, Ruby Woodward and Orce Toney.

The wake will be held today at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana 
Highway 41, Pearl River, La., from 6-9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Charter Oak Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 6, 
2011 at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 9 a.m.
Interment to follow at Austin Cemetery, Pearl River, La. 
with Bro. Jacob Bogard, Bro. Kyle Thigpen & Bro. Jessie Johnson officiating.
