A resident of the Lee Road Community for the past 56 years, he was born March 5, 1933 in Albany, LA to the late Antoine and Audis Hoover Albin. The beloved husband of Mary Lou Jenkins Albin, he is the father of Vicky A. Sharp, her husband Bim, Clint Albin, Andrew Albin, Lance Albin, his wife Ida, and the late Byron Albin. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Ann Albin and her husband, Clark Gristina; six grandchildren: Avery Sharp and his wife Kayla, Amanda Albin and her husband Keith Murphy, Ashley, Tyler and Ryan Albin and Byron Sharp; one great grandson, Emmett Albin Murphy and four sisters: Marquerite Clement, Esther Sandifer, Patsy Lee and Linda Faye Stewart. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Smith and Helen Dee Rawlins and two brothers, Hugh Lee and Lansing Albin. Al was an Army Veteran, serving his country during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Covington. For almost 50 years, he was a dedicated and proud member of the Plumber and SteamfitterÕs Union Local 60.With his wife Mary Lou, he was owner of AlbinÕs Community Grocery for 46 years until their retirement. He enjoyed farming, politics and visiting with others in the community on the front porch of the family store. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin Thursday at 9:00 AM. Interment at Birtrue Jenkins Family Cemetery in Bush, LA will immediately follow services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Willis Albin to the Southeast LA War Veterans Home, 4080 W. Airline Hwy Reserve, LA ===================
