Captain Lionel Martin Cottier, Sr., NOFD Retired passed away on Sunday, 
September 25, 2011.

Beloved husband of the late Lillian Lashley Cottier for 58 years. Father of 
Lionel M. Cottier, Jr. (Carol), Darlene Davis (Kirk), Charles Joseph Cottier, 
Merlin James Cottier, James Michael Cottier (Mary), Gerald Patrick Cottier 
(Diana), Diane Martin (Dan), and Susanne Phistry (David). Brother of Florence 
Schoen, Roselyn Sciambre and the late Alton Cottier (Isabel) and Ralph Cottier. 
Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Age 94 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for 
the past 31 years.

A private funeral mass will be said at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 
Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM.

Interment in Mandeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer 
masses to be said.
