He was a drill instructor with the United States Marine Corps, a graduate from Warren Easton High School as well as Delgado Community College, member of the VFW, member of the Krewe of Dyonisus, and worked for Southern Railway as a assistant sales manager for most of his life. He is survived by his wife Marcella Hennessey; sons, Joseph V. Hennessey Jr. (Amanda) and Sean David Hennessey; six grandchildren, Joseph V. Hennessey III, Kayla Diane Hennessey, Ashley Marie Hennessey, Colton Chase Hennessey, David Rodney Hennessey, and Gavin Tyler Hennessey, and three great-grandchildren Camaron, Addison, and Joseph V. Hennessey IV. He is also survived by His brother Paul Hennessey Jr.; sister Patricia Niday; sister-in-law Dorothy Laine (Gerald); brother-in-law Jerry Ranko; two nieces Teri Laine, Lucille Randall, and nephew Ellis Ranko (Debbi). Mr. Hennessey is preceded in death by his parents Claudi and Paul Hennessey Sr. and his son Christopher David Hennessey. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens, Pearl River. ===================
